PEGASUS EQUINE MASSAGE

Give Your Horse Wings - Naturally!

SOME HELPFUL INFORMATION TO CONSIDER PRIOR TO YOUR HORSE'S MASSAGE

The following is a guide to help get the most benefit from your horse’s massage treatment

  • Each horse is an individual and because of this it may take between 1hr to 1.5hrs to treat each horse plus a short time to get a brief history.
  • It is also beneficial that your horse is not fed or worked immediately before or after a massage treatment.
  • The best treatment area is somewhere cool and shady and away from as many distractions as possible.
  • Please ensure your horse is dry and free of any mud.

Some contraindications that will prevent me from massaging your horse

All of the horses systems, including the circulatory system are stimulated by massage and therfore, as a precaution I cannot perform a massage treatment if your horse:

  • Is generally unwell eg. looks 'off' or may have a temperature
  • Has an infection eg. a cold or a skin infection
  • Is on medication or has had medication administered within the last five days
  • Has a recent injury eg. trauma resulting in lacerations, swelling or fracture
  • Has weight bearing lameness
  • Is displaying signs of colic
  • Has a heart condition
  • Has cancer
  • Is pregnant

This is not a definitive list, therefore a full medical history will be obtained before every massage treatment of every horse.
